Line fishing for Squid is becoming more popular with Commercial Fisherman all over the UK and Ireland in recent years.

The Yamashita squid jigs we supply are very effective at catching Squid, Cuttlefish and small Octopus around our shores.

The best way to fish the Yamashita jigs is to drop them to the bottom from a stopped boat; lift the weight clear of the bottom to prevent snagging and hold the jigs in position. The gentle rocking of the boat is usually enough.
Once the Squid pick up the jigs they find it very difficult to drop them, so It is possible for each crew to work multiple lines.
